Get your hands dirty and learn something real about flowers
I've been growing chrysanthemums and working with botanicals for over 15 years, and honestly, there's nothing I love more than showing people the tricks I've picked up. These workshops aren't gonna be some stuffy lecture - we're gonna get messy, laugh at our mistakes, and make something you'll actually be proud to take home.
Lead Instructor & Founder
I started Pyrethral Forge because I got tired of seeing the same boring arrangements everywhere. After spending years working at traditional florists and studying rare chrysanthemum varieties in Japan, I knew there was a better way to do this. Now I get to spend my days elbow-deep in soil and teaching folks who are just as obsessed with plants as I am. My specialty is making complicated techniques feel doable - 'cause honestly, if I can figure it out, anyone can.
Botanical Design Instructor
I came to flowers through photography, actually - spent years shooting botanical gardens and got hooked on the structures and patterns. What I love about teaching is showing people how to see what's already there in a plant, rather than forcing it into some predetermined shape. My workshops tend to be pretty chill - we'll talk about color theory and design principles, but mostly I just want you to trust your instincts and have fun with it.
Preservation Techniques Specialist
Honestly, I'm kind of a plant nerd - I'll admit it. My background is in botany, but I got into floral preservation because I hated seeing beautiful arrangements just die after a week. There's so much you can do with drying, pressing, and preserving if you know the science behind it. I promise my classes aren't boring lectures though - we get hands-on pretty quick, and I'm always down to answer the weird technical questions nobody else wants to tackle.
